It was a great way to refocus my mind. I had to learn to think differently. I had to see things differently. Although it sounds crazy, it was like I had been brainwashed. My training and my nation also brainwashed me.
South Africa, however, legalized racism and named it. It was understandable and available to everyone, however, as wrong as it may seem.
It was amazing to me how many wonderful things I read. I felt America had this condition. It is a process that begins from the inside. It is okay to walk around acting like the rest of the country.
South Africa is blessed. Our illness was a big deteriorating sore and we just had to open it up. The puss and blood was disgusting and not very nice to see. However, we were able to recognize that it was there and we had to take it on. The world saw it, but we were the most important. This was where our journey to recovery began. While we still have much to learn, there is still much to do, but we are still healing and learning to love again. America, I ask the same. Gripping. Powerful. This is a story that must be told. These two perspectives are different. One is almost impossible to see. Both are difficult to read but they use different methods. You are forced to reflect on the life of another person and not only what she expects. It is important to consider the world from the perspective of another person. Although you are reading it, it is hard for you to imagine that it was written by a female white writer. The story is even more disturbing when you consider the current state of our nation’s race relations. It is impossible to claim that the problem of racial equality has not changed for the worse. It is evident in every day life. I found myself questioning the things I claimed. I was sickened by the contents of this publication. But I continue to read. It is extremely important. Picoult is trying get a message out. Please don’t misunderstand, I was fascinated by the book. This story is intense and passionate. It also depicts a deep battle. You should check it out.

Some people will be skeptical, I imagine. This scenario could be recognized by a fiction writer. I was able to see the extent of her research for this book in person. She is not claiming that she is a specialist. It was based on a true story. The title is derived from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s famous speech: “If I cannot do wonderful points, then I can do small things in great ways.”

The story concerns a registered nursing assistant, not an average registered nurse but one who is dedicated as well as well-related to, with a twenty-An year-long job at the healthcare facility where the ‘occurrence’ takes place.
