It was really stupid to think that a teenager could draw woollen over my eyes. Susan taught me years ago that I was foolish to believe I recognized my child.

I waited for this book I decided to read the book on my Kindle and then go back to it. Because she is honest and raw, I had to stop and take breaks. As a mother, this was a welcome relief but also a bit exhausting. It is not only Susan’s thoughts, but also my mistakes and those of a parent. It’s almost asphyxiating that I have to admit my failures.

Every year, just after New Year’s Eve, I post Susan’s essay to my FB page, in the hope of informing others. Susan, I will continue to send you strength, courage, and quality. Thanks for being you.
