Both have a lot of terrible, dark secrets from their pasts. Both are both beaten and tell each other about their dark pasts. They discover that they lack top qualities in their lives. Can they care for each other? They will they become a D/s couple? They will continue to face many challenges as a couple. I’m guessing the next book I will answer a few of these questions. It was not what I expected. Rome & Calloway are two souls seeking each other. Both of them have a torturous past. She is from foster care and he is from an abusive father. She does not understand Calloway’s Dom nature or the fact that he is a member of a BDSM CLUB. They both recognize their mutual attraction as well as make concessions– the most significant is refraining from sex for 4 weeks & then it is vanilla with a spin (no spoilers below). Rome is an attractive, strong lady who doesn’t let anyone walk all over her. Rome is a lady she loves deeply and with all her heart. She also gives her time to people who are worthy of it. She misunderstands Calloway as a man that she thought had hurt her best friend. Sparkles fly. Calloway, on the other hand was drawn to Rome as soon as he saw her enter the bar. His obsession was her stamina, which he found attractive like a moth to fire. He had never before required a female in such a way. He would not have a normal life.
It was comforting to feel familiar with this publication, I have to admit. I can’t compare the Dom/Sub tales we all shared to that of another author. I expected certain things to happen, but they did not. Their stories were varied and I was unable to put them down. I enjoyed the dual points of view. Cal Rome is so positive with her objective. You can also see how genuine Cal Rome is, regardless of her past. As a reader. You, as a reader, can see that they are perfect for one another. Each of them makes sacrifices for the other, even though they don’t realize it.
I found myself taking care of each character and seeing how they have grown together. It was incredible to see their love for each other. This is the type romance that I love. book!
